Ever-popular indie singer/songwriter Andrew Bird returns to the intimate Southern Theatre with his four-piece band to perform material from his next album, Break It Yourself. As the Guardian's critic said, “Bird and his collaborators use sound the way the impressionists daubed paint, layering elegiac violin melodies with pattering plucked notes, fuzzy or jangly guitar, clip-clop percussion, clicks and drones to create music that might be straightforwardly folky, brightly poppy or more experimental, but is always vivid and engaging.”
Bird has a special package to offer all his fans on this tour. Each ticket is bundled with a unique musical package that features a redemption code to download Break It Yourself on its release (March 6) plus downloads of Fake Conversations (a live EP from Bird’s fall 2011 tour) and a souvenir live from the spring 2012 tour.
Be sure to act soon as Bird's past Wexner Center sponsored shows at the Southern have all sold out fast. And you’ll want to arrive promptly at 8 PM for comic Eugene Mirman’s hilarious stand up opening set. The Stranger called Mirman “equal parts Andy Kaufman and Andy Warhol,” a perfect combination for Wex audiences.
