"Right now my favorite band in the whole world is Antony and the Johnsons...when he sings it is the most exquisite thing you will ever hear in your life."--Laurie Anderson

Enter the completely unforgettable, weirdly beautiful realm of Antony and the Johnsons.

An English transplant to the New York scene, Antony became a mainstay on the drag performance circuit. Since then, he has crossed over to cabaret clubs and concert halls, earning raves from all quarters.

Attired in his flounciest finery, shaven head painted white, Antony has an unsettling stage presence amplified by his ethereal, quavery voice. Its purity lends a dark twist to the torch songs he favors. Fronting his supremely talented faux chamber orchestra, Antony offers inspired readings of Nina Simone's burner "Be My Husband," Lou Reed's "Candy Says"--an ode to Candy Darling, the Warholian transgender icon--as well as his own riveting tunes, including the cult fave "I Fell in Love with a Dead Boy."
