“The Projectors' deconstruction of pop, R&B, noise and choral music was a visceral pleasure unlike anything else in recent music.”—Los Angeles Times on Dirty Projectors live

This live show will undoubtably be a highlight of the summer, coming just two days after Dirty Projectors' release of Swing Lo Magellan, their much anticipated follow-up to 2009's acclaimed Bitte Orca, on July 10. Dave Longstreth, the group's driving force, wrote, recorded, and produced Swing Lo Magellan with input from the other band members, furthering his reputation as one of today’s most visionary artists in the indie scene. Hear his new approach on the cool and soulful teaser track, "Gun Has No Trigger," which suggests a turn from the hyperdrive R&B approach of Bitte Orca.

Dirty Projectors deliver live, too, as local fans know from their Wex debut in 2009. Here’s how a reviewer from Under the Radar puts it: "Their vocal intricacies and unpredictability thrill…and they genuinely exploded as a live band. The drums, the bass, the synths all played their part too—exquisite counter-point melodies, polyrhythms, and grooves were all part of the mix. What was incredibly complex sounded so simple in its execution."

Opening the show will be NYC band The Psychic Paramount whose oceanic sonic onslaught rides on thick riffs.
