An Evening with Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Dawn McCarthy

wex grid image fill

“There's a warmth and life in these songs that goes beyond tribute or reenactment.”—Blurt Magazine

Wex favorite Bonnie “Prince” Billy (aka Will Oldham) returns with Dawn McCarthy (of Faun Fables) and their band for an intimate evening of original material, favorite songs, and tunes from the Everly Brothers’ catalogue as featured on the recent Drag City release What the Brothers Sang, plus other material that suits their close, dusky harmonies. Oldham and McCarthy tap into the essence of the heartfelt songs, and their sincere yet lively treatment of these less familiar classics by  Don and Phil Everly also summons traces of the Everlys' own influences, such as the Louvin Brothers. Q Magazine called this collaboration, “a revelation from start to finish and up there with Oldham's best work.”

The show starts promptly at 8 PM—no opening acts.
