This double bill showcases the stunning musicianship of guitarists James Blackshaw and Glenn Jones, both major players in the neofolk underground scene. "23 year old UK guitarist James Blackshaw has burst fully formed on the folk underground...an instrumentalist of astonishing grace and delicacy."--Pitchfork

London-based musician James Blackshaw is earning high praise in the indie press as one of the most important artists today in the neofolk underground. Echoing guitar greats Sandy Bull, Robbie Basho, and John Fahey, Blackshaw's nimble fingerpicking produces cascading, transcendental compositions that evoke haunting Appalachian ballads, tender Renaissance turns, and Eastern meditations.

Glenn Jones (leader of the band Cul de Sac) is another major figure in this movement. The Boston Globe praised the "sensory magic at work" in his visionary solo 12-string guitar explorations, which are "etched in slow detail so every nuance of his vibrato and tone can be absorbed."
