Jason Moran and the Bandwagon

New Time!

"Like no other pianist at work...dynamic, eruptive, keyed to the compositions at hand."--Village Voice

One of the most justifiably lionized young stars on the jazz scene, pianist Jason Moran makes his Columbus debut in this intimate cabaret-style concert.

The performance time has been changed from 7:30 to 8 pm due to OSU's Homecoming Parade traffic restrictions. Gaining critical success with each of his excellent releases for the Blue Note label, Jason Moran impresses listeners with his own compositional maturity, as well as his smart takes on early stride master James P. Johnson, vanguard pioneer Muhal Richard Abrams, or even hip-hop architect Afrika Bambaataa and his classic "Planet Rock."

Moran's Bandwagon trio features bassist Tarus Mateen and drummer Nasheet Waits in what the New York Times calls "one of the most reliably thrilling groups in jazz...with seamless sets, wild musical breadth, and stimulating ideas."
