"Melodic purity, a mesmerizing rhythmic drive and stark emotionalism...extraordinary."--UNCUT on Jose Gonzalez
Young singer/songwriter Jose Gonzalez is quickly capturing worldwide attention across Europe with Veneer, his poignantly evocative debut release. Raised in Sweden and born of Argentinian parents, Gonzalez creates captivatingly seductive songs (sung in English) that pull you in through their elliptical, introspective lyrics and elegant, Latin-flavored guitar figures. His subtle, minimalist style has earned him critical raves and favorable comparisons to folk legend Nick Drake. New Yorker Nina Nastasia opens the show with a set of her darkly tinged yet beguiling songs.
