"Always inventive...positively brilliant."--Globe and Mail

Kidd Pivot is a superlative seven-member dance company from Canada led by choreographer and dancer Crystal Pite, a former member of William Forsythe's famed Frankfurt Ballet who also currently serves as associate choreographer of the prestigious Nederlands Dans Theater. Lost Action offers a dynamic rumination on love and loss that's as emotionally charged as it is thrilling in its physicality. The title comes from military lingo employed in the theater of combat, and Lost Action's intense imagery evokes interpersonal engagement, dissolving relationships, and sorrow. The piece builds in rapid-fire phrases, shifting from passages of subtle fluidity to fierce bursts of kinetic energy. Dance audiences who were intrigued by the choreographic language that underpinned our exhibition William Forsythe: Transfigurations will be keen to see how these inspirational ideas are taken in fresh directions by Crystal Pite and Kidd Pivot.
