"The most enthralling album of the year so far."—Independent on Laura Veirs's Carbon Glacier

Prolific Seattle-based singer/songwriter Laura Veirs is experiencing a breakthrough year with her most recent release Carbon Glacier, her first for savvy label Nonesuch Records. Uncut magazine called it Veirs's "first masterpiece...the unmistakable sound of a songwriter hitting her stride, pouring herself into each syllable," while Mojo described the record as "incanatory, contemplative, literate."

Veirs's subtle and starkly beautiful songs quietly pull you into their shadowy sphere with a sound that will appeal to fans of Chan Marshall (Cat Power), Aimee Mann, or Gillian Welch. Columbus's Jerry DeCicca (Black Swans) will open the show with a solo set of his own haunting tunes.
