"These are magical songs laden with imagery and poignancy."—The Guardian (UK)

Our intimate Performance Space with its great sound makes an ideal setting for the Low Anthem's much-anticipated live set here. The indie folk band from Providence, Rhode Island, got extra airplay in these parts with "To Ohio," a track from their 2009 breakthrough album Oh My God, Charlie Darwin that encapsulated the band’s many charms as evocative lyricists, singers, and multi-instrumentalists. Smart Flesh, their 2011 follow-up on Nonesuch, also earned critical raves like this once from Paste: "The kind of album that demands to be listened to, the kind of album you put on when you really want to hear something.… Full of echoes, hushed vocals and stripped-down beauty.… Most importantly, you’ll hear some great stories. It's the lyrics that make Smart Flesh truly shine."—Paste

Speaking of "To Ohio": Low Anthem and Emmylou Harris are collaborating on a new version of the song to be the bonus track on Harris's new album. And the Onion's A.V. Club recently premiered Low Anthem's cover of Wilco's "Shot in the Arm" as part of their Undercover Series. Hear it on the A.V. Club website.
