"A new era of expression and devotion."—Piccadilly Records

This riveting ensemble from Pakistan continues a direct family line of Sufi devotional music that stretches back five centuries. Led by nephews of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, long-reigning master of qawwali, Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali bring the same level of vocal skills and devotional fervor to their transcendent music.

$5 tickets for teens (ages 13-18) are available through High 5 Tickets to the Arts. Click here for details. World-music fans still fondly remember Nusrat's Columbus debut at the Wexner Center in 1993. Since his untimely death in 1997, many have sought out the inheritors of his legacy. In this concert, you'll hear some of the strongest contenders as torchbearers for qawwali's ecstatic singing tradition. Like Nusrat, Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali are featured artists on Peter Gabriel's Real World label and have delighted listeners with traditional music as well as crossover projects with contemporary producer/remixers. This is a not-to-be-missed event on this season's music calendar.
