Fri, Jan 23, 2015

Calling all Ohio film- and video-makers! The Wexner Center is now accepting submissions for the Ohio Shorts 2015 juried short film and video festival, for both the Adult and Youth divisions. Entries for this event will be accepted through Monday, March 30 at 5 pm. New to Ohio Shorts this year, selected entries in each division will be screened together on Saturday, April 25, at 7 pm in the center’s Film/Video Theater with a reception in Heirloom Café afterward. Each artist whose work is selected for the showcase will receive two complimentary tickets for the screening and reception, and cash prizes will be awarded in both divisions.

This annual Ohio Shorts festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary, is intended to showcase the talent and diversity of voices of artists and filmmakers based in Ohio and to provide them with the opportunity to show their work in a theatrical setting. Last year’s festival brought in entries from around the state that ranged from traditional narratives to experimental works to documentaries  to animations. Works submitted will be reviewed by a diverse jury that in the past has included artists, curators, critics, academics and Wexner Center staff.
