DeeDee and Herb Glimcher Lecture: Architect Elizabeth Diller

Hear from architect Elizabeth Diller, a founding member of innovative and highly respected interdisciplinary design studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro, in the 2011 Glimcher Lecture (originally announced for last spring).

The studio’s work spans the fields of architecture, urban planning, visual arts, and the performing arts. Recent projects include Manhattan’s High Line park, the Lincoln Center expansion and renovation, and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston—all of which have received rave reviews. In this talk, Diller discusses a variety of the firm’s most significant projects.

Diller and partner Ricardo Scofidio were recipients of the MacArthur Foundation "genius award" in 1999, the first ever given in architecture. Honored many times by the American Institute of Architects, they have also been awarded the Cooper-Hewitt’s National Design Award, an Obie for creative achievement in off-Broadway theater, a James Beard Foundation Award for Best New Restaurant Design, and the Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design.

The Glimcher Lecture is presented with support from the Glimcher Program Fund, which supports an annual lecture by a distinguished speaker in the fields of art, architecture, and design.

Cosponsored by Ohio State’s Knowlton School of Architecture.
