Known for her “ice books” that incorporate native seeds embedded in floating, frozen tomes, Basia Irland frequently collaborates with community groups to realize her large-scale projects that focus on issues of sustainability in our waterways. Irland is the recipient of over 40 grants and has worked most recently in Egypt, Ethiopia, India, and Nepal.

Cosponsored by Ohio State’s Chadwick Arboretum, the Wilma H. Schiermeier Olentangy River Wetland Research Park at Ohio State’s School of Environment and Natural Resources, and the Conversations on Morality, Politics, and Society (COMPAS) program of Ohio State’s Center for Ethics and Human Values
