Capital Day

Fri, Oct 19, 2012 10 AM3 PM

Join local artists Liv Gjestvang and Julia Applegate for a daylong exploration of narrative, portraiture, and identity, based on the Wexner Center’s Annie Leibovitz exhibition. Through a series of hands-on exercises that can be transferred to the classroom, you’ll explore themes of visual narrative, popular culture, and personal expression and spend time learning about lighting, framing, and capturing intimate personal portraits that tell a story. You’ll also have a chance to work with both studio setups and on-the-fly, DIY approaches. We will close with an exercise to translate the day's work into a classroom project idea that’s appropriate for your grade level. Come ready to roll up your sleeves and create! Lunch will be provided.

Register.
