Katy Reis on Susan Philipsz

Two members of the curatorial staff discuss installations by Harry Shearer and Susan Philipsz now on view at the Wexner Center.

Shearer's video installation The Silent Echo Chamber captures media and public figures in the moments before a broadcast "goes live." Philipsz’s two pieces, Sunset Song and The Dead, use sound to interact with the center and our visitors in very different, but equally evocative, ways. Manchanda, the senior curator of exhibitions, coordinated the Shearer installation. Reis, a curatorial assistant, worked closely with curator Christopher Bedford on the Philipsz installations. They'll share insights into the artists’ working process and sources. See the exhibition section of our web site for more about Shearer’s and Philipsz’s projects.

Please note: Cathleen Reis is participting in this program in place of Christopher Bedford, who has a scheduling conflict.
