An acknowledged innovator of interactive art, David Rokeby has pioneered technologies now widely used by choreographers, musicians, and visual artists alike.

David Rokeby's best known work, Very Nervous System (1986-90), utilizes video cameras, computers, and synthesizers to create an interactive space in which body movements are translated into music.

Rokeby has been twice honored with Austria's Prix Ars Electronica Award of Distinction (1991 and 97) for his achievements.
