Pages is an innovative multidisciplinary program that supports literacy and writing skills through the exploration of contemporary art, film, and performing arts. This free program pairs artists and educators from the Wexner Center with high school teachers from across central Ohio in the planning of writing-based, experiential learning opportunities for students. Pages students then visit the center to experience gallery exhibitions, a performance, and a film and respond to those experiences in journal entries, prose, poetry, and art. There are also opportunities for students to showcase and publish their work. The curriculum fully engages and supports new core state and national education standards. Bus subsidies are provided for all three fieldtrips.
Visit the Pages blog to see the program in action or view the most recent Pages anthology, a beautiful compendium of our participants’ writing and visual art.
Applications for the 2015–16 school year are due April 17. Interested applicants also have the option of previewing the program while receiving professional development credit.
