Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum Grand Opening Festival of Cartoon Art

The Wexner Center is helping our neighbor, Ohio State’s Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, celebrate its move to a wonderful new, expanded facility in Sullivant Hall. The weekend festival includes an academic conference, programs with cartoonists including Jeff Smith, Paul Pope, Jaime & Gilbert Hernandez, Stephan Pastis, and Kazu Kibuishi, tours of their new spaces, and more! Many of the events will take place at the Wexner Center. Please visit cartoons.osu.edu/FCA/2013 for more detailed information on the festival.

Youth won’t want to miss this speedy drawing workshop planned in conjunction with the grand opening of Ohio State’s Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum in Sullivant Hall on High Street. Visiting artist Kazu Kibuishi (creator of the best-selling Amulet series) will join us for a brief Q&A session. Bring your sketchbooks—or we can give you one—and your favorite drawing tools! A tour of the new museum will be included along with lunch and snacks.

Scholarships for the workshop are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information contact the education department at (614) 292-6493 or edweb@wexarts.org

This Wex Lab is currently full but seats may become available. Please email edweb@wexarts.org to be added to the waitlist.
