Future Technology

Future Technology: Media Arts and Culture Colloquiumfeatures artists and theorists who are exploring technology's applications and implications in the arts.

Tue, Feb 25, 2003 4:30 PM

Gail Wight discusses her work, which "attempts to understand thinking" in varied ways.

Her own description of her projects, from her web site, says, in part: "In attempts to understand thinking, I have: made maps of various nervous systems, practiced art while under hypnosis, designed an artificial intelligence to read my tarot, read for hours to fish, conducted biochemical experiments on myself and others, executed medial illustrations in black velvet,...and attempted to create cognitive models of my own severely confused state."

The Future Technology: Media Arts and Culture Colloquium is presented by Ohio State's Department of Art's art and technology area and foundations program and cosponsored by the Wexner Center. The series is made possible with a grant from the Battelle Endowment for Technology and Human Affairs.
