Join us for this discussion of the new anthology Interfaces: Women, Autobiography, Image, Performance, with editors Sidonie Smith and Julia Watson and Ohio State contributors Lesley Ferris and Jessica Prinz.

In Interfaces, editors Sidonie Smith and Julia Watson present essays by 14 scholars that explore 20th-century women artists' self-representation at the interface of visual image, written text, and performance. The artists discussed in these essays include Claude Cahun, Charlotte Salomon, Frida Kahlo, Louise Bourgeois, Faith Ringgold, Bobby Baker, Cindy Sherman, Lorna Simpson, Laurie Anderson, and many others.

Sidonie Smith is a professor of English and women's studies at the University of Michigan; Julia Watson is an associate professor of comparative studies at Ohio State.

The contributors are leading scholars in feminist art history and narrative theory, including two other Ohio State faculty members: Lesley Ferris, chair of the Department of Theatre, and Jessica Prinz, associate professor of English. Lisa Florman, associate professor of history of art at Ohio State, moderates the discussion.

Cosponsored by Ohio State's Department of Women's Studies and the Wexner Center.
