wex grid image fill

In this talk John Schmor, professor in the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Oregon, addresses questions about the process of creating new work for the theater.

In what Schmor calls a "poetics for devising," he also considers both the "rules" and the limitations of an aesthetic process. Schmor has published about the devising process and performed in numerous divised works in the United States, United Kingdom, and France.

Presented by Ohio State's Department of Theatre and The Syndicate (Graduate Student Theatre Association). Cosponsored by the Wexner Center.
