Public Performances

The Wexner Center is proud to introduce Pantalone's Luna of the Tree in its first U.S. performance outside New York City. This program is a collaboration with Ohio State's School of Music and the Columbus Children's Choir.

Along with My Heart Is a Penguin, another performance presented by Pantalone at the Wexner Center this February, Luna of the Tree is like an enchanting musical picture book brought to life. Both shows feature original scores performed live by onstage musicians, vivid animated images projected on movie screens, and actor/narrators to tell the captivating stories.

See both performances for a double dose of family fun and a great value.

The Saturday performance of Luna of the Tree at 1:30 PM features ASL interpretation. The story of Luna of the Tree, based on a Slovakian folktale, tells of a brave young prince, a mysterious tree, and a magical sprite named Luna. A children's choir joins a chamber orchestra of strings, flute, harp, and other instruments for the music. This show and its companion piece, My Heart Is a Penguin, have entranced young audiences throughout Europe and even on Broadway.

This performance is recommended for young people ages 6-12 and their families.

The performance is 35 minutes. The combined running time for consecutive performances of Luna and Penguin is about 90 minutes with an intermission.
