The Market at 15th & High
Fresh just got closer. The Market at 15th & High, an outdoor farmers' market on the Wexner Center Plaza, brings fresh local seasonal goodness to the Ohio State campus and surrounding community.
Buzz has been building about the market, after a successful first season in 2010. Stop on by and pick up some ripe Ohio berries, field greens and green beans, fresh-cut flowers, as well as baked goods, artisan cheeses, meats, and specialty items. The market is open Thursdays (3:30 to 6:30 PM) through October 27, and the selections of produce and other products each week will change depending on what's ripe for picking and ready for eating. New this year, the Market will feature a different local food cart each week.
The market is held rain or shine, and 100% of the profits go directly to local farmers. SNAP benefits are accepted by some vendors, and produce is donated to the food pantry at Neighborhood Services following each market. A few vendors are also participating in CSAs—community-supported agriculture, in which farmers deliver shares of produce on a weekly basis to subscribers—with the market serving as a pickup spot for their subscribers. New this year is the Market’s inclusion in Ohio State’s Your Plan for Health Faculty & Staff Incentive Program, where faculty and staff can earn points in the program by attending the Market.
Cosponsored by The Wayward Seed Farm and the Wexner Center for the Arts.
If you are a member of the Ohio State community or a resident of the University District, you are invited to contribute to the Market by setting up a table about your organization (PDF) or providing live acoustic music (PDF).
