Teacher In-Service Day

In this workshop especially for teachers, you'll examine how artists' projects encourage critical thinking and offer ideas for student projects that connect art to life through learning. Resource materials will be provided. Conversation with Hope Ginsburg at the Wexner Center

Visual and language arts teachers are invited to explore the role of the contemporary artist as self-motivated learner at these programs presented in connection with Columbus Public Schools (CPS) Capital Day and the regional Central In-Service Day.

You'll examine how artists' projects provide a model for classroom practice, encourage critical thinking, and offer ideas for student projects that connect art to life through learning. In the morning, learn how with Work Ethic artist Hope Ginsburg's apprenticeship with a beekeeper led to her Bearded Lady project. In the afternoon, visit the Work Ethic exhibition and work with the creative team of Mary Forker and Russell Smith to produce a handmade book. Resource materials will be provided.
