Wex Lab: Environmental REGISTRATION IS FULL

wex grid image fill

Join environmental educator and builder Laura Wies and Wexner Center Educator Jean Pitman for a full day exploring the intersections between contemporary art and the natural world. (Registration for this workshop is full. Please watch the schedule for future offerings.)

We'll focus on the work of Paula Hayes in this hands-on workshop as we work on individual and group projects and tour the exhibitions in our galleries. Even the tasty (and free!) lunch will be eco-friendly, provided by Conscious Columbus, an OSU student group, and featuring local products.

This workshop is limited to 15 students, so register promptly by emailing edweb@wexarts.org or call Jean Pitman if you have questions at (614) 292-4614.

Click through for more information. Laura Wies focuses on natural materials to build objects that grow, change, and decay. She enjoys combining her experiences as an environmental educator and natural builder for this Wex Lab. A graduate of Allegheny College, Wies also works to create a more sustainable food system in Ohio and beyond as an educator for the Ohio Ecological Food & Farm Association (OEFFA), which is a membership-based, grassroots nonprofit organization, dedicated to promoting and supporting sustainable, ecological, and healthful food systems. In addition, she is incorporating locally sourced natural materials in the process of building her own home in rural Ohio.
