Cruzamentos: Contemporary Brazilian Documentary

Cruzamentos: Contemporary Brazilian Documentary continues with visits from some of the most prominent filmmakers working in Brazil today. Developed in conjunction with the exhibition currently on view in our galleries, this series offers an unprecedented opportunity to discover one of the most vital—and seldom seen—documentary traditions happening anywhere in the world.

The series features three films by Eduardo Coutinho, one of the world’s greatest documentary filmmakers, who was tragically murdered in February 2014. Please join us as we pay tribute to a uniquely sensitive filmmaker.

Series curated by Chris Stults, Wexner Center associate curator of film/video.

Via Brasil is organized by the Wexner Center for the Arts and made possible by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Lead support provided by Morgan Stanley.

Cruzamentos: Contemporary Brazilian Documentary is cosponsored by Ohio State’s Center for Latin American Studies.

Special thanks to the Embassy of Brazil in Washington, DC, for its invaluable guidance and assistance in promoting Via Brasil among its many constituents.
