Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi was first performed in 1874. Arguably the most frequently performed major choral work composed since the compilation on Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s setting of the Catholic funeral Mass has been referred to as both a tour de force oratorio and an opera in ecclesiastical robes. Featuring the Symphony Orchestra, Chorale, Symphonic Choir, and combined glee clubs. Arrive early to enjoy a pre-concert talk by James Naumann, PhD student in musicology.

The concert will be broadcast live on WOSU Classical 101, hosted by Christopher Purdy.
