Wexner Center staff, trustees and members of the Ohio State community were on hand Tuesday night, December 4 for the opening of OSU Professor, Wexner Center friend and artist Ann Hamilton’s new installation, the event of a thread, at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City.

The work that fills Wade Thompson Drill Hall (which is large enough to hold an entire football field) consists of several different components including a giant white cloth, called The Weather, which is tethered to swings scattered throughout the space. Visitors are invited to use the swings, which in turn sets the white cloth into billows of graceful movement. This complex installation also includes portable radios, readers from New York’s SITI Company, pigeons, and a scribe all working together to create both an intimate, immersive, and grand experience in an expansive space. The exhibition runs through January 6. View the video posted here to learn more about this incredible new wor
