Guy Maddin on 'Keyhole' and his Wex Residency Award

Sep 21, 2011

Fresh off the premiere of his most recent cinematic reverie at the Toronto Film Festival, Canadian maestro Guy Maddin returns to the Wex on September 23 for his fifth visit to introduce a special members-only screening of Keyhole.  Guy was the recipient of the 2008-09 Residency Award in Film/Video which provided him with key, early financial support for the project that is about to be released to eager audiences around the world.  The Wex is incredibly proud of Guy, his terrific new film, and the support we were able to provide to one of our favorite filmmakers.  Guy will also be at the Wex on Sunday afternoon at 1 PM to introduce a personally selected double-feature of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves (Arthur Lubin, 1944) and Forty Guns (Sam Fuller, 1957).  We hope you will join us for this weekend-long celebration of Guy's residency!  Here's a Skype interview with Guy about Keyhole and the Wex's support of the project.
