Wex Story: Matt Burns

As we reflect on celebrating our 25th anniversary this year, we recognize that we wouldn't have made it here without the support of our members and patrons (that's you!). We’ve been asking people to share their Wex stories—what they were up to 25 years ago, their favorite Wexner Center moments, how the center has impacted them, what they see as the center's role in the community—and the responses have been rolling in.

"Among many great moments at the Wex, my fondest memory by far was seeing Milos Forman's great, neglected comedy Taking Off with the director in attendance in April 2008. Due in no small part to Forman's helming of classics such as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Amadeus, Taking Off is—at best—an overlooked curio. The crowd that night, though, treated it as anything but, filling the room with uproarious laughter for a solid 90 minutes. Too often, directors are long dead before their initially passed-over films get the credit they're due. Mr. Forman that night got the rare privilege of witnessing that happen before his very eyes, and I'll always cherish being a small part of it."
