WorldView: Cultural Intersections in Contemporary Art

Three students pose for a photo

Every thinking mind needs a worldview. This half-day program builds on the cross-cultural understandings and perspectives that engage and influence many contemporary artists. This year’s program features All This Panic (Jenny Gage, 2016), a documentary following the lives of a group of teenage girls as they come of age. The film explores identity and some mature themes as these girls find themselves growing up in a modern world and facing difficult decisions along the way.

The program will include a film screening, a facilitated post-film discussion, and small group discussion to explore issues highlighted in the film. Preprogram resources are provided and opportunities for pre- or post-classroom visits may be available upon request to further engage with the topic.

Bus subsidies and lunch are included. For more information and to register, please contact Dionne Custer Edwards at dcusteredwards@wexarts.org and read the WorldView blog.
