Triple Feature

The first film, feature-length, is a documentary about a legendary New Wave director. The second, a short, is an adaptation of a short story, and the third, mid-length, was originally intended to be a Japanese car commercial.

Second feature start time: 9:15pm. Another production for French television, Jacques Rivette, the Watchman (1990; 124 mins.) is Denis' priceless documentary about the legendary New Wave director. The film shows Rivette in conversation with Cahiers du Cinema editor Serge Daney and is interspersed with generous clips of such difficult to see Rivette masterworks as Out 1 (1971).

The Hoop Skirt is Denis' adaptation of Jacques Nolot's story about a young woman's unconventional apparel, told by the author himself while seated in a café. (1992; 24 mins.)

John Lurie provides the music in Keep It for Yourself, which was originally intended as a Japanese car commercial. With Vincent Gallo. (1991; 40 mins.)
