Dani Leventhal and Sheilah Wilson

Woman on floor; Strangely Ordinary This Devotion

Join us for this program of collaborative, multidisciplinary work presented by renowned Columbus-based artists and professors Dani Leventhal (Ohio State) and Sheilah Wilson (Denison). Premiering at the 2017 Whitney Biennial, their video SOTD (Strangely Ordinary This Devotion)—a dizzying collection of breathtaking images and deftly intuitive editing—showcases the power of technology to capture the personal and the mythic, the domestic and the fantastic. Preceding the video, Leventhal and Wilson will perform Shameless Light, a reading of inspiring love letters written by women, including the artists themselves. The interplay between live performance and projected video promises to make for an intimate, unforgettable evening. (approx. 60 mins., video + performance)

Wilson leads a gallery talk on Cindy Sherman’s complex relationship with feminism on Tue, Oct 10.
