Two classic films—one starring Jack Nicholson and one by Roman Polanski—free both nights for Ohio State students, faculty, and staff. The Ohio State community is invited join us before the Tuesday night screening for an Open House celebrating the reopening of the Wexner Center's Film/Video Theater. Second feature start time: 8:45. In Five Easy Pieces, Jack Nicholson stars as a misfit from a wealthy family who rejects his upbringing by working on an oil rig and shacking up with a country musicñsinging waitress (Karen Black). In one of the film's classic scenes, you'll see how difficult it can be to get a side order of wheat toast. (Bob Rafelson, 1970; 96 mins.) The archetypal psychological horror film, Repulsion features Catherine Deneuve as a sexually traumatized young woman who is terrified by every man she encounters. As her mind deteriorates, she seeks sanctuary in her apartment only to encounter more horrors within. (Roman Polanski, 1965; 104 mins.) Before the Tuesday night screening, Ohio State students, faculty, and staff are invited to join us on the Wexner Center's lower level for an open house event with free food and refreshments from 6 to 7 pm.
