"Beautiful. One of this year's best films!"
--Jeffrey M. Anderson, San Francisco Examiner, on Friday Night

The latest film by French director Claire Denis, an enthralling portrait of unexpected romance in Paris, plus an evocative short set in Prague. The latest effort by Claire Denis (Beau Travail, Trouble Every Day) Friday Night follows a Parisian woman on the verge of commitment--she's about to move in with her boyfriend. The evening before the move, she winds up in a colossal traffic jam. Just when she thinks she'll spend her last night of freedom stuck in a car, a handsome stranger appears, in need of a ride. The remainder of the film follows the unexpected and lovely turns of the chance meeting. (2002; 90 mins.)

Each screening begins with Small Untold Secrets, a short film by Czech director Mira Fornayova about a young girl who chases images of herself across Prague. (2002; 22 mins.)
