Double Feature

A "musical novel" from Neil Young (aka Bernard Shakey), plus a classic featuring The Who, rock's original anarchists.

Second feature start time: 8:40 pm. Released under the pen name Bernard Shakey, Neil Young's "musical novel" Greendale unfolds in a series of vignettes about a small California town. The story is brought to life through Super-8 footage and some of Young's best music in years. The Village Voice's J. Hoberman called it "the season's least expected avant-pop funk-festÖsplendiferously primitive." (Bernard Shakey, 2003; 83 mins.)

The Kids Are Alright, a straight-ahead history of The Who, is filled with historical interviews and great performance footage of rock's original anarchists. (Jeff Stein, 1979; 108 mins.)
