(Tickets are not available through the Wexner Center.) Jesse Eisenberg, Dakota Fanning, and Peter Sarsgaard star as radical activists plotting to blow up Oregon’s Green Peter Dam in an act of environmental sabotage. As their plan marches towards fruition, they soon discover that small steps have enormous consequences. With a filmography including Wendy and Lucy, Meek’s Cutoff, and Old Joy, Kelly Richardt, a past guest at the Wexner Center and a veteran of our Film/Video Studio Program, has built up one of the most distinctive bodies of work in independent cinema today. Night Moves sees her venturing into genre and film noir–territory to unique effect. The resulting atmospheric, suspenseful thriller is yet another graceful and absorbing film from Reichardt about outsiders searching for a meaningful place, if even on the edges of society. (112 mins., DCP)
