The Wicker Man’s genre-bending, thematic daring, and torturous history have made it the U.K.’s definitive cult movie.”—Village Voice

Released in celebration of the horror classic’s 40th anniversary, this full restoration of The Wicker Man is based on director Robin Hardy’s original cut of the film. Police Sergeant Neil Howie searches Summerisle, an isolated island off the coast of Scotland, for a missing girl. The locals’ claim that she never existed, and Lord Summerisle’s insistence that Howie, a staunch Christian, embrace the island’s pagan rituals become both frustrating and alarming as Howie finds evidence that the girl and many others may have been part of a sacrificial rite. Crucially restoring the story to the order Hardy originally intended, this new version features scenes from the only known surviving print of the 1979 US release. (94 mins., DCP)

Come early and taste local mead from Brothers Drake at Drink It In before the 7 PM screening.
