A Woman, A Part

(Elisabeth Subrin, 2016)

Elisabeth Subrin IN PERSON

Woman on the ground

Elisabeth Subrin’s A Woman, A Part stars Maggie Siff (Mad Men’s Rachel Menken) as a burned out TV actress in Los Angeles who moves back to New York in hopes of rebooting her life. Once there, she finds that old friends and familiar surroundings don’t quite offer the comforts she had expected. Subrin, a past resident in the Wex’s Film/Video Studio Program, is perhaps best known for Shulie (1997), her fascinating portrait of feminist Shulamith Firestone. (97 mins., DCP)
