"Through it all, Mr. Mangum sang his enigmas with clarity and conviction, and the band took nothing for granted, for a show where foot-stomping and pondering were fully compatible."—New York Times on Neutral Milk Hotel live

Just announced: Neutral Milk Hotel featuring Jeff Mangum, Scott Spillane, Julian Koster, and Jeremy Barnes will headline this year’s Next @ Wex Fest, a special collaborative event presented by PromoWest Productions in association with Wexner Center for the Arts and CD102.5 FM at the LC Outdoor Pavilion, 405 Neil Avenue in the Arena District, on Sunday, July 20. Doors open at 6 pm.

Tickets for the Next @ Wex Fest are $30.50 in advance for all audiences or $33 day of show. Price includes $1 per ticket to benefit Children of the Blue Sky.

Tickets go on sale to Neutral Milk Hotel fan club members Wednesday, February 5 at 10 am via Crowdsurge. Wexner Center members can buy presale tickets on Thursday, February 6 at 10 am using a Ticketmaster code. Public ticket sales begin at noon on Friday, February 7 at Ticketmaster outlets or online at http://www.ticketmaster.com. Limit 4 tickets; no photography or video recording (including cell phones) allowed.

Playing favorites from their cult classics In the Aeroplane Over the Sea and On Avery Island, this summertime concert will see the band thrill their many fans with soaring live renditions of their enigmatic and timeless songs. Circulatory System, spearheaded by musician and painter Will Cullen Hart, will also showcase their widescreen psychedelic sound on this midsummer's night dream bill. Columbus’s own indie scene "supergroup" Connections (with its members drawn from 84 Nash, Times New Viking, and El Jesus de Magico) kicks off the memorable evening.

A portion of the proceeds from this event benefit the Wexner Center for the Arts and CD102.5 for the Kids, which aids local children’s programs and is facilitated by local independent rock station CD 102.5 FM.

PromoWest Productions President Scott Stienecker says, “We’re pleased to again collaborate with the Wexner Center for the Arts and CD102.5 for what will undoubtedly be a great night of music benefitting worthy causes.”

"Since the Next @ Wex series has featured Jeff Mangum solo as well as Circulatory System and several other bands from the associated Elephant 6 Collective in the past, we're really pleased to expand on this history and have Neutral Milk Hotel as our headliner for Next @ Wex Fest 2014. Seeing them outdoors at this special event organized and promoted with our partners at PromoWest and CD102.5 will be a true highlight of the summer's music calendar,” says Chuck Helm, director of performing arts at the Wex. "Of course, it's a real bonus that rising Columbus band Connections could also join in on this triple bill as they exemplify the creative dynamic of our own indie scene.”

Randy Malloy, CD102.5 general manager, says, “The Next @ Wex Fest is quickly turning into a great tradition of partnership among our station, the Wexner Center for the Arts and PromoWest Productions, serving as both a great moment for Columbus music-lovers and a fantastic way to support the important work of CD 102.5 for the Kids and of the Wexner Center.”
