"I'm not sure if there's a name for the type of music Bird is making, but whatever it is, it's beautiful and new and I love it."--Pitchfork Singer/violinist/whistler extraordinaire Andrew Bird has won a keen following worldwide with enchanting music that feels pastoral and intimate yet very up-to-the-minute and emotionally expansive. Touring with the release of his latest typically unclassifiable but brilliant CD, Armchair Apocrypha, he returns to Columbus for the first time since a fantastic, sold-out show here in fall 2005. His enthusiastic fan base has grown even larger since then, and this time he's playing in the bigger Southern Theatre downtown, known for its great acoustics. Still, you'll want to be sure to get your tickets early, or you're apt to be completely out of luck for this Friday the 13th concert. Hailing from Nashville, Ever Records' Cortney Tidwell has drawn comparisons to everyone from Bjork to Mazzy Star to Patsy Cline. Tickets ($20.50) include a $2.50 theater restoration fee.
