“An awe-inspiring debut by an old soul on a mission to inject some much needed legitimacy into the singer/songwriting tradition.”—Under the Radar

Laura Marling, just 17 when she first attracted attention and now a mere 20, is a leading figure among a new wave of rising British talents who are updating folk-rock traditions for today. A former member of Noah and the Whale, she was nominated in 2008 for the prestigious Mercury Prize for best British album for Alas, I Cannot Swim, her solo debut release. Her rich and appealing voice, clear, clean melodies, and astonishingly mature lyrics have summoned comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake.

Catch Laura Marling on the rise at this show and check out our upcoming date with Mumford & Sons to hear another exemplar from England’s current folk rock scene.
