Presented by Central Ohio Composers Alliance in Association with the Wexner Center for the Arts

“This New York string quartet has earned a reputation as one of America’s most daring and ferocious new music ensembles.”—Chicago Reader

Lauded for their “performances of edge-of-your-seat intensity” (Strad Magazine), forward-thinking young chamber music ensemble Mivos Quartet is a leading interpreter of contemporary music. Though also known for playing music by globally recognized modern masters, since its beginnings in 2008 the quartet has invested in commissioning and premiering new music for string quartet, particularly in a context of close collaboration with emerging composers over extended periods. For this free concert, Mivos Quartet will premiere Triptych, by acclaimed Columbus-based composer Vera Stanojevic, as well as perform George Lewis’s Playing with Seeds, Matthew Ricketts’s In Partial View, and Sofia Gubaidulina’s String Quartet #4.

This event is made possible by the Johnstone Fund for New Music and Greater Columbus Arts Council.
