"Absolutely stunning...so beautiful, it makes me want to follow every single thing Typhoon does."—NPR

"Typhoon...is big by rock standards, with somewhere in the neighborhood of a dozen members playing mighty, powerful songs whose instrumentation conveys big, bold joy....They've put out some memorable music, but the new White Lighter takes the promise they've shown and delivers completely."—NPR

Typhoon, a dynamic 12-piece band from Portland, have an instantly winning widescreen sound, with xylophone, accordion, horns, and strings among the arsenal of instruments that adds rich texture and color to their intricate orchestrations. Typhoon’s catchy trademark tunes including “The Honest Truth” get ecstatic responses from fans and critics alike. Here's a rave from trendsetting magazine Paste: “Sometimes more really is better. Even with a dozen or so members, Typhoon made a song that has the right amount of everything: horns, strings, drums, and a chorus of gorgeous vocals…. A song on a par with an Arcade Fire classic. It’s epic, It’s honest. It’s the truth.”  Touring in support of their new release White Lighter on Roll Call Records, Typhoon fill up our stage with a sweeping sound that will carry you away. The catchy art pop of Portland's Radiation City provides an ideal prelude for the proceedings.
