Cam’s On Campus Opens at Wexner Center

Fri, Feb 09, 2007

The Wexner Center for the Arts and Cameron Mitchell Catering Company announce a new creative partnership: Cam’s on Campus. This destination café—which is intended to appeal to the university community and the general public alike—is open Monday–Friday 8 am–4 pm beginning Monday, February 12 for breakfast and lunch, Saturdays 11 am–2 pm, and occasional dinners to coincide with select Wexner Center evening programming (beginning with a special Valentine’s Day dinner package before a screening of the Audrey Hepburn picture Two for the Road). The casual café menu, served over the counter, will include fresh sandwiches, organic rice bowls, soups, salads, smoothies, coffees (including free trade coffee), and breakfast sandwiches; click here for a complete menu). Prices will range from about $4 to $10. The Wexner Center is a campus wireless hot spot: Internet access is available to Ohio State students, staff, and faculty. Plans are in the works to add some lounge furniture to encourage students and others to linger.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cam’s on Campus under our roof,” says Wexner Center Director Sherri Geldin. “Our intention is to create a lively café that serves good food in an atmosphere that fosters dialogue about what people have just seen in the galleries, onstage, or onscreen.”

Notes Cameron Mitchell, president and CEO of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, “With its high profile in Columbus and the built-in foot traffic of the university community, the Wexner Center is a natural place for us to be. Our hope is to develop a menu that enhances the experience of being in this distinctive building, while reflecting the eclectic tastes of the faculty, staff, and students.”
