Summer Youth Workshops Come to a Close with Art, DJ, More on August 14

Participants in the Wexner Center’s popular summer workshops for kids and teens will have a chance to publicly showcase their creativity at Fusion Fest 2009, this Friday from 5 to 7 pm at the Wexner Center. Parents, family, friends, and the media are invited to come out and see what the students and educators created this year.

The evening includes:

Rolling slideshows from each class that will focus on the students and the work they created throughout the summer. Video games created by students will also be accessible for Fusion Fest attendees to view and play.
Displays of photographs, drawings, and videos created by the students.
A communal exquisite corpse, which is a method of creating artwork where a collection of words or images is combined to create one large work, in this case, on a giant roll of paper.
Entertainment provided by local DJ Spidey X, as well as a short live music set played by the teenage winners of the Hocking County Fair’s Battle of the Bands.

Entrance to the event will be through the 17th Avenue door only (on the north side of the building). Signage around the Wex will make the entrance clear. Due to transitioning exhibit spaces, the event will not be accessible through the main entrance of the Wexner Center.
