The Wexner Center has joined forces with the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) to offer a gallery admission discount for COTA riders coming to the Andy Warhol exhibition this fall. This partnership is intended to increase the public’s access to the exclusive U.S. presentation of Andy Warhol: Other Voices, Other Rooms, while encouraging patrons to take advantage of public transportation.
Here’s how it works: COTA riders can ask the bus driver for a “Warhol/Wexner” coupon, which can be presented that day only at the Wexner Center ticket desk for a $3 discount off of the general admission price of $8. Four COTA bus lines (#2, #18, #31, and #84) provide frequent service to 15th Avenue and High Street in front of the Wexner Center. Single fare, DayPass, and Monthly Pass riders are eligible for this special offer. The offer applies through the run of the exhibition, September 13 through February 15.
Notes Jack Jackson, deputy director of the Wexner Center, “We are thrilled to be able to partner with COTA for our Andy Warhol exhibition. It signals a new kind of collaboration that allows, we hope, greater accessibility to the Warhol show, both financially and geographically. We also hope the offer will encourage individuals who might not otherwise visit a contemporary arts institution to attend the Warhol show this fall.”
“We are delighted to be collaborating with the Wexner Center for the first time in this fashion,” says Bill Lhota, president/CEO at COTA. “As central Ohio’s provider of public transportation since 1970, COTA hopes to make the public more aware of the number of arts venues on our routes. Four of our buses stop right in front of the Wexner Center all day long—and knowing that the Warhol show will likely bring in big crowds—this seemed like a perfect fit.”
The center will also be outfitting the windows of the bus shelter at the corner of 15th and High in Warhol-inspired vinyl—also a first for the Wexner Center.
