Adam Pendleton

Do not miss the chance to hear this rising star of the art world speak at the Wex. Adam Pendleton (b. 1984) is a multidisciplinary conceptual artist who has quickly established himself as one of today’s foremost emerging artists. His work—from painting, silkscreen printing, performance, publishing, photographic collage, and video—investigates and analyzes the contextual nature of history and language through appropriated imagery. His work has been exhibited internationally in venues such as The Museum of Modern Art, The New Museum, and The Whitney Museum in New York; MOCA Cleveland; the 56th Venice Biennale; The Baltimore Museum of Art; and the Tate Modern, London. Pendleton has been featured twice in Forbes "30 Under 30" list and signed with Pace Gallery at the age of 28, becoming one the youngest artist to do so in Pace’s history.

Cosponsored by Ohio State’s Graduate Student Painting Club, Undergraduate StudentPainting and Drawing Clubs, Department of Art Visiting Artist Program, and Humanities and the Arts Discovery Theme, Contemporary Art and its Publics: Working Through Reproduction.
