Explore identity and the self-portrait through costumes, sets, and metaphors to try to catch a glimpse of who we each truly are. (This workshop is full. Check out the other courses listed at right or follow the registration directions below to join the waitlist.) Research contemporary artists who use themselves as departure points for their work, and experiment with/in different kinds of photo shoots featuring—you guessed it—yourself. Join photographer and educator Aaron Knochel as you work both in front of and behind the camera. We'll cover digital photography, lighting, and Photoshop techniques. You'll complete the week with a solid portfolio of images featuring the most important person on the planet. For me, it involves the ability to assert a sense of the unimagined and the reenvisioned. We all engage in perceived realities. These realities, based both in aesthetic perceptions and theoretical constructions of meaning, are pathways to the social configurations in which we live and inhabit. Registration fees are per student per week and include materials and equipment. A limited number of scholarships are available for families requiring financial assistance. We’ll let you know exactly where your workshop meets. Changes and cancellations Dates and times are subject to change. The Wexner Center reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment without incurring obligations. If a class is canceled, you may transfer to another class or request a tuition refund. If you withdraw from a summer workshop up to seven days before the event, you will receive a refund less a $25 non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be given after that time. Need more info?
